The elephant in the room. I’ve seen the videos. I know I will be in the minority; but Tyreek played a major role in escalating the situation. The “woe is me” act doesn’t play when you behave like an entitled brat. The officers over reacted; however, there comes a moment when you need to put aside your prejudice, humble yourself, and calmly do as they’ve asked. When your entire car is blacked out; they will want to see inside. I don’t have that problem and can leave my window 90% closed b/c they can see clearly from every window. If you choose midnight tint, roll your window down. An officer gently tapping a window is common; Hill’s replies are not. Hill did not once do as requested when requested. The “my knees my knees” when he knows he is moments away from playing football is incredulous. This isn’t boot licking, but when you’ve broken at least three traffic laws, it is not the time to be arrogant.

Coaching: (B-);
The second half adjustments bring up a below average grade. The first half everyone was a bit off. Whether that was due to lack of preseason reps or the incident that took place prior to kick-off is anyone’s guess. The timing wasn’t there at all to start to the game. The defense too came out shaky, but recovered greatly in the second half. I think the staff and the players all weren’t quite ready for kickoff, and that is on the Head Coach. However, the way they came out in the second half is also on the coaching staff and they rebounded nicely. Though it was difficult to watch at times, a win is a win.

Running Backs: (D-); Jeff Wilson Jr came in on the final drive and saved this unit from an “F” grade. Running Backs are always graded on a slight curve. Much of what they do on the ground is directly correlated to the Offensive Line. Which didn’t open any caverns on Sunday. But Achane and Mostert really couldn’t get much done. Achane made up for it on the receiving end, but as a runner, it was a lackluster performance. Ingold converted two big first downs. Hopefully Thursday they can establish the run against a Bills defense that gave up 125 yards on Sunday.

Receivers: (B+); This group shined, mostly in the second half, but they shined none the less. Three receivers over 75 yards, Six with a reception, and three plays over 35 yards are all great signs. They missed some opportunities early, but made the plays required to win. The Jags barely missed out on the playoffs last season; and most predict them to be in the mix once again this year. It was a quality win against a team with a winning record from last season.

Defense: (B-); If the grade was only for the 2nd half, it would be an “A+.” But we have to grade the entire game. In the end, the numbers are solid: held the Jags to under 300 total yards, recorded 3 sacks, two VERY timely getting the offense the ball back with a chance to win, and forcing the game changing turnover deep in their own territory. That Holland Punch was incredible. They will need to be 2nd half sharp all game on Thursday.

Special Teams: (C); Bailey performed well all day including pinning the Jags inside the 5 with a perfectly placed punt out of bounds. He averaged nearly 50 yards a punt flipping the field when needed. Sanders brings this grade down substantially after missing a FG inside of 45 yards to tie the game. He made up for it with his next two kicks, including the 52 yard game winner; but a close miss will always bring my grade down. I wanted Coach MnM to go for it there after the Turnover on Downs.

Quarterback: (B); Tua missed Hill several times in the first half on what would have been big plays. He finished strong, even on Hills 80 yard catch and run, the throw was perfectly in-stride allowing Hill to continue forward at full speed, if that ball was even slightly under thrown, the defense would have no doubt caught Hill. He connected with Waddle on a key third down with another gorgeous ball. Tua even converted a third down with his legs. Lets hope he plays like this all year. His biggest mistake was that shoelace sack knocking Miami out of FG range.

Officials: (C+); I think the holding call on Hill was pretty bad. But when this unit doesn’t make too many glaringly bad calls, they get a C, which for the Zebras is as close to an A as I’m ever willing to go.

Overall: (B-); If they play like this on Thursday, it will be a loss. Need to figure things out quickly on a short week. Run blocking needs to improve; I’m not as worried about the timing issues in the pass game as I am about the O-Line opening up lanes. If the Fins can’t establish the run against their stouter opponents this year, their record against the premier teams won’t be much different that last season. The D line will need to put Allen in shackles. He broke Arizona’s back with his feet, Miami can’t let him turn trash into treasure if they want to win.
